Function Of Brick Load Protectors
A load of cinder blocks is impressive but dangerous without the proper protective trappings. If one block becomes wobbly and falls out of line, the entire load becomes an elevated danger for all surroundings. In addition, brick corners pose a serious safety hazard to handlers and passerby and tie-down straps may get cut from the blocks' sharp edges. Using a brick guard corner protector removes those risks by covering the load edges and carpeting tie-downs with a smooth heavy-duty plastic V board.
Brick corner guards are an essential part of every load; without them, bricks would fly and tarps and straps would be rendered ineffective. Brick edge rails stabilize loads, clamping cargo together in a controlled grip. They prevent cargo loss and personal injury. Brick load protectors are heavy-duty plastic boards shaped in a right-angle V that get laid over the edges, under tie-downs, protecting straps and tarps from becoming torn and useless. Brick corner protectors are also great for padding soft and fragile loads like sod rolls, hay bales, insulation, and drywall. They protect them on the sides, edges, and tops from impact, strap force, and gravity.
In addition to obvious cargo and strap safety benefits, brick guards offer the advantage of fulfilling the requirement to use an edge protection that''resists abrasion, cutting, and crushing' in a case where 'a tie-down would be subject to abrasion or cutting at the point where it touches an article of cargo'. (See FMCSA § 393.104 for further details.)
Protector
Made of a hardy high density polyethylene, these brick guard rails are durable enough to withstand impact and extreme weather conditions. They are 48" long, with a length of 9" over the top and a drop of 24", giving plenty of coverage to every load. These brick edge guards can be snapped together to form a solid cover for your load.
